Coming into AMES I didn't really have any strong relationships with any of faculty of the previous schools I have attended before coming here. Once I got here I met the principal of the time Mr. McGill and former Dean of Students Mr. Haslip and they immediately started looking after me. They always started checking up on me making sure I was doing everything I should be, asked if I needed help or just how my day was doing in general. When they left I felt like AMES changed and it had a very different feel to it. Mr. Wilson then stepped up to become the Principal and he than started watching what I was doing and took the role McGill did when he left. He started checking up on me making sure I was doing the best I possibly could do. I've never had something like this at my other schools I really never felt like any of the teachers or administration actually cared about me as a student. Once I got here that all changed, now Mr. Wilson pushes me to step out of my comfort zone and actually try stuff I usually wouldn't really go for. He wanted me to speak at an assembly but I respectfully declined because I was really nervous now he wants me to speak at graduation which is an absoulte honor. Feeling welcomed and having people actually check up on me and make sure how I am doing and what I am doing is the best I could do feels really good. I didn't think coming to AMES I would feel the support I feel today.
